Which program should I order, the DVD with web access or web access only?

The decision between the DVD with web access or web access only programs is largely one of personal preference. If you do not have a high speed internet connection, you should order the DVD. You may also want to order the DVD if you want to use the program without an internet connection; to keep the program indefinitely, or to take the CME examination by printing the Answer Form and submitting it by mail or fax, rather than electronically. You should order the web access only program if you do not have a DVD drive. You may want to order the web access program if you are ordering from overseas and do not want to pay international shipping charges.

How do I order?

You may order from our secure website at www.virtualradiologyfellowship.com. If you prefer to order by fax, an order form can be printed from the website or can be requested at orders@virtualradiologyfellowship.com. Fax order forms to 866-730-2435. If you order by fax, allow three weeks for processing.  

What are the minimum computer system requirements?

PC: 500 MHz processor; 128 MB RAM; Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7. MAC: 233 MHz processor; 128 MB RAM; MAC OS 10 or higher. Sound card and speakers. For DVD ROM version: DVD drive. For internet program: Internet Explorer 7 or higher, Firefox 2 or higher, Safari 3 or higher and a fast internet connection (i.e. DSL, cable, or faster).  

For web access, how do I get a user name and password?

If you order the program online, you will be asked to select a username and password at check-out. If you order by fax, you will be notified to select a user name and password.

Can I get web access if I purchased the DVD program before web access was available?

Yes. You can receive web access for one year for the programs you purchased on DVD. This access will be for one year from the date of processing and will allow you to take the CME test electronically. For customers who purchased the DVD(s) on August 1, 2009 or later, the web access is free. For customers who purchased the DVD(s) prior to August 1, 2009, a $50 processing fee will be charged per customer. Go to the Contact Us page and click on the link to request web access. You will need the serial numbers of the DVDs you purchased to complete the request form.

Can academic institutions subscribe to web access for multiple users?

How do I install the software for the DVD program?

PC: Insert the DVD-ROM in the computer DVD drive. The program should auto-launch. If not, double click on VRF-Windows.exe. in DVD program box. MAC: Insert the DVD-ROM in the computer DVD drive. Launch VRF-MAC. MAXIMIZE the program to optimize viewing. The DVD-ROM must be in the DVD drive at all times in order to run the Program.

Do I need to keep the DVD in the computer to run the DVD program?

Yes. The program runs from the DVD-ROM. The DVD-ROM must be in the DVD drive in order to run the program.

Can I see a demonstration of the workstation simulator?

Yes. Every product has a demo available. Go to our products section; select a product,  and click “DEMO.”

Do the programs include complete scans?

Yes. Each program includes 50 scans consisting of 140-200+ images and sequences in the sagittal, coronal, and axial planes.

How does the interactive workstation work?

The interactive workstation contains three display windows, each dedicated to a specific imaging plane (i.e. sagittal, coronal, or axial). In the lower portion of the display windows are sequence selection buttons for viewing T1 or PD and T2 or FS PD sequences. Workstation interactive functions include scroll, pan, zoom, brightness, and contrast.

How do I manipulate the images on the workstation simulator?

Scroll: Hold left mouse key and move screen level (PC or MAC) -or- Roll mouse wheel (PC and some MACs) Zoom, Contrast, or Brightness: Hold left mouse key and move screen level Pan: Hold left mouse key and move mouse

Does the virtual workstation include a localizer?

No. The cases in the virtual workstation consist of jpegs, not DICOM images. Jpegs images do not include location information. DICOM images are not used because the large size of DICOM data precludes running a program of 50 cases on a DVD-ROM in a PC. Proprietary software allows the user to experience the image manipulation of DICOM data using jpeg images.

What portions of the DVD program are printable and how do I print them?

Radiology reports which accompany each of the cases in the Case Read-Out, the CME Test, and the CME Test Answer form are printable. Click on “PRINT” on the radiology report, “ Prt Answer Form” button, or “Prt CME Test” button. The printer box will launch, select your printer, and print. Earlier operating systems may force program out of full screen mode when Doing PRINTOUTS. Click MAXIMIZE to resume full screen display

Can the cases or images be exported?

No. The material in the program is copyrighted and cannot be exported.

How do I take the CME test?

Complete the Expert Approach and Case Read-Out modules. In the DVD program, print the Answer Form and Program Evaluation in the CME test section by clicking the “Answer Form” button. View the CME test on your computer or print the CME test by clicking on the “Print CME Test” button in the CME Test module. Fill out the Answer Form, including the Program Evaluation. In the online program, log in to your subscribed program, and click on “Online Test”. On the following screen, to take the test online, click on “Take Online Test”. At any point you can stop the test and save your answers by clicking on “Save and continue.” To resume a partially completed test, click on “Continue Saved Online Test”. If you prefer to take the test by mail or fax, click on “Download Printable Test and Answer Form” and print the materials.

How do I get CME credits for my participation in a program?

If you submit the test AND the completed program evaluation electronically, you will receive an accreditation letter by mail within 3-4 weeks. If you submit the test using the DVD Answer Form, mail or fax a copy of the test answer form AND the completed program evaluation questionnaire, to Medical Education Resources, Inc.; 1500 W. Canal Ct Bldg B, Littleton, CO 80120-6404; Fax, 303-798-5731. Entries must be received by Medical Education Resources by November 24, 2010. Participants will receive an accreditation letter by mail within 3-4 weeks upon completion of the posttest and evaluation form. For more information, call Medical Education Resources Inc. Are additional user packages available for CME credits?

No. Additional user packages are no longer available.

What is your return policy?

You may return an unopened item within 7 days of receipt for a full refund excluding shipping costs. Refunds will not be made for opened items unless the item is defective. Purchase of web access program is refundable only within 24 hours of activation. Please notify us at orders@virtualradiologyfellowship.com if you wish to return an item.

Do you have different language versions?

No. At the present time, the programs are available only in English.
